Pasture Keeper
No. 001Built on Gooseberry Bridge Farm

Who's due, who's bred, who's her mother?

From the breeding to the barn, Pasture Keeper keeps every animal's records on your phone: health, family trees, milk and more. The answers are in your pocket instead of a notebook in the truck.

What it keeps

The records that live in your head, written down.

Built one request at a time by the family who does the chores. Everything on this page works in the app today.

Breeding

Heat forecasts, who's bred to whom, when she's due, and a reminder before she is.

“Sort the does by next heat, pregnant ones last.”

Family trees

Parents, offspring and siblings on one page, a family web you can zoom, a board where you draw the lines by dragging a youngster to her mother, and a relation check before you pair two animals.

Juniper × Bramble: no relation found.

Health and care

Care schedules, step-by-step care plans, weights, FAMACHA and body condition with history, and a quick way to flag a concern.

Hoof trim due for 6 goats this week.

Milk and eggs

Daily milk by animal with charts and totals, lactations and dry-off reminders, and egg counts by flock.

38.6 gallons this month from 3 does.

Pastures, chores and calendar

A graze-and-rest timer for each pasture with a to-do when it's time to move the herd, repeating chores, a calendar you can subscribe to, and a simple page for the farm sitter.

“Move the Does off North Pasture.”

Your records

Photos, registration papers and notes on every animal, the whole family on one farm, and an export of everything to Excel any time you want it.

“Her registration papers, on her page.”

Our story

I built the farm app I couldn't find.

Our farm is small. We raise goats, rabbits, pigs, a couple of cows and a flock of chickens in Rogersville, Missouri. Our records were on paper or scattered through notes on our phones. I wanted better records on my animals, but everything I found was built for big operations and priced like it.

So I built Pasture Keeper to work for us. My wife and kids use it every day to track breeding, care, milk and eggs, pedigrees and more. When we needed something, I added it.

It's simple on purpose. No bloat, and one price gets you the whole app.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Pasture Keeper runs in your phone's web browser and on a computer, with layouts made for both. There's no app to download yet. You can add it to your phone's home screen so it opens like an app, and a true iPhone app is planned.

Can I keep my animals' registration papers?

Yes. Each animal has a place for its registration number, and you can upload the papers themselves, or a photo of them, and attach them to the animal. They print on her record. Registration transfers are still made with the breed registry.

Which animals does it handle?

Goats, sheep, cattle, pigs, rabbits, poultry and more, plus the dogs and cats. You can add any species your farm keeps and switch off the ones you don't.

Can my whole family use it?

Yes. One subscription covers your farm, and you can invite family and helpers to it.

What happens to my records if I stop paying?

Your farm turns read-only for 30 days, so you can still look things up. After that, you can always sign in to download everything or pick up where you left off. We keep your records for a year before deleting them.

Can I get my data out?

Any time. Export your records to Excel or CSV, plus a folder of your photos and papers.

When can anyone sign up?

After our Founding Farms have used it for a while and we're confident it's ready. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you first.

What does a Founding Farm actually do?

Uses Pasture Keeper on their own farm, tells us what's confusing or missing, and answers a short check-in every few weeks. In return they get early access and the half-price Founding Farm rate.
